X-Ray Analysis

One of MESH's first projects as a company was to help develop a method for determining the composition of manmade fibers. The client, DuPont, requested that MESH extract the pertinent measurements from the raw spectra that was collected on an x-ray goniometer.

MESH started with the raw spectra (x-ray counts vs. reflection angle) and extracted the salient metrics using signal processing techniques including baselining, curve fitting, peak finding, and area measurement.

This software has remarkable longevity.  It was first developed in 1985 and is still in use today, two decades later.
